    ducksfan says:

Ground breaking new CDC guidance. “The best mask for you is the one that you can wear comfortably.” Wow absolutely genius

    michelle raymond says:

They should know. They wear their masks well.

    Matt says:

After 2 years of the “masks are tyranny” crowd, I feel like the bar has been lowered quite a bit.

    Nirh Ghs says:

There’s a small gap between both nose sides and masks, even when properly wear, which is enough for entering one billion viruses if in that type of environment.

    Ian Ginger says:

Once again the CDC is late on this. Should’ve recommended n95s in March of 2020 and done live tutorials on how to ensure that your n95 is properly fit. At the very least, the CDC should’ve come out with this recommendation when Delta became the dominant strain in the US.

    Sharon Jones says:

They did say this about n95’s in 2020, well Fauci did but there weren’t enough for us commoners so the cloth mask became the go to bs to wear. Why do you think he said to wear 2 to 3 of them? An n95 or better worn properly is the only mask that will stop a virus which is 3 to 4 microns in size. A surgical blue mask is 10 to 11 microns, cloth is like a chain link fence. And what about your eyes? Viruses get into your eyes & not from coughs or sneezes. The damned stuff is airborne. Respiratory viruses are most always airborne while stomach types are the ones you get from surfaces. Neither is 100% transferred this way but usually. The only difference between this virus and all the others is the fear porn & mandates. If this was as bad as they say & the numbers were counted honestly it would be no worse than the seasonal flu. I’ve had it and had dear one’s actually die from it. And then there’s been the dear ones who were listed as covid deaths and WERE NOT!! The hospitals get big bucks for covid deaths. Big bucks. Please wake up. Why after we are so many vaccinated, more than in history on the freaking planet, are people still getting it and dying? Your supposed to be protected not get so sick & certainly not die. Somethings very wrong with the daily story on this crap. And viruses ALWAYS mutate. Our bodies even know & recognize a mutated version of a virus it has already had & 99.99% of the time will kill EVERY mutation it has had before, except this one?? Come on folks research study read books learn. Save your asses.

    Keep on keeping on says:

Wonder why in last 2 years more effort wasn’t put into designing new n99 personal masks where filter can be exchanged and main body of mask can be cleaned and produced at lower cost but in America. Also designed to fit better and for more comfort for different shapes of faces when wearing 8 plus hrs at a time and communicate easier through. May be able to make mask smaller and/ or forced air. Maybe bigger that fits comfortably over whole head. Lot of options for new better designs. Hope America is at least making all needed n95 masks in America and not relying on foreign countries still. Same with medical oxygen and any other medical equipment needed to fight pandemic.
I know there’s respirators made for construction and other work but they are not comfortable. I’ve wore many over my life hours at a time. Thinking better more futuristic types.

    Brian Roiger says:

They maintain control by keeping you anxious that’s why we have the threat level.

    justmemadison says:

yep, let’s pretend that almost a million people haven’t died and hospitals across the country are full with COVID patients again. What war was it that we lost almost a million people in a year or two or 3…

    James Curran says:

@justmemadison cool using your logic we should ban fast food and bring back the Volstead act.

By the way dummy, the CDC has also said that a good number of the hospitalized happen to have covid while there for other things.

Honestly coming across you people who are just finding this information out now while us CRAZY PEOPLE have known this for months is sad.

    John Smith says:

First I (as countless others)was excoriated for pointing out a face covering with the logo of your favorite NBA team was worthless (now proven correct, CDC capitulation ) .. Now I look on the directions on the case of all my medical grade masks I’m providing for employees and customers, and it emphatically states “ONE TIME” use and a litany of procedures how to treat as hazmat waste to discard it when leaving a room… We’ve lost our minds listening to these worthless bureaucrats trying to justify their exorbitant government salaries.

    ChazTheYouthful says:

It was never worthless, even cloth masks reduce spread and transmission.

    Truth is Freedom Florida says:

    @ChazTheYouthful
Show a single scientific study that proves your statement.

    Sharon Jones says:

@ChazTheYouthful like chain link fence keeps out mosquitoes.

    Sharon Jones says:

@ChazTheYouthful virus 3 to 4 microns. Blue surgical mask 10 to 11 microns. Chain link fence. Sheesh. Only an n95 or better is ANY protection & if it isn’t tight on your face at ALL times you are exposed.

    Sharon Jones says:

Mr Smith you are so right. The expense should not be yours to bear. I tell them to excoriate on as I HAVE read more scientific studies in the last 13 months than I ever thought I would even in my materials safety job.

    Joram Velasco (J.V.) says:

“If someone dies WITH covid-19, we are counting that as a Covid-19 death.” – Direct quote from Dr. Birx at the Coronavirus Task Force press conference. You could literally make a stuffy nose the leading cause of death using this rule.

    Apara says:

Would you stop it!!!!!! I literally see your commit EVERYWHERE! If you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, don’t. No one cares what you do because you’re nobody! Just shut up and live your life the way you want.

    justmemadison says:

Oh please. Almost a million people have died. If they removed everyone from the list that had a running nose, hundreds of thousands of people have still died from COVID and the hospitals across the country are filling up again. What is it about doing the right thing for the people around you do so many people find so freaking difficult. If you don’t care about your own health, if you don’t want to get vaccinated — don’t. No one cares. It only becomes a problem when you treat other people’s lives with blatant disregard. You can carry the virus without knowing it therefore everyone around you is at risk and for what, because you refuse to believe the facts. Please, how arrogant and self involved can one be. May you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe…there may not be room at your local hospital if anything happens — you know, heart attacks, strokes, car accidents…

    Sharon Jones says:

@justmemadison and you need to research.

    Sharon Jones says:

@Apara and your angry and mean. Your no more or less important than any other human being🌷

    Justin Walker says:

Did the CDC Director just say wear a mask that you can tolerate which basically means if it does or doesn’t work it’s at least doing something which means everybody’s going to get sick because this is not something that there’s a middle ground for

    Joram Velasco (J.V.) says:

but also there will be a surprise outbreak.” – Anthony Fauci, 2017 at Georgetown University

    NPC-Masked-Karen says:

How many times has CDC “updated” their guidelines 😂 Useless advice and lies!

    ChazTheYouthful says:

You mean science changes as it learns more? Fascinating.

    justmemadison says:

I know. Can you imagine they keep learning new things about this new virus. Geesh.

    Joram Velasco (J.V.) says:

0.001% mortality rate for age group 0-17 in the US. This includes kids with pre-existing medical conditions.
    (source: CDC.gov)

    NPC-Masked-Karen says:

Remember when the CDC backtracked comments from its director suggesting that vaccinated people couldn’t ‘carry the virus 😂 She lied straight up!

    ChazTheYouthful says:

Yeah, funny thing about science is that it self corrects as better information becomes available.

    justmemadison says:

@ChazTheYouthful Thank you. It’s amazing how many people are not willing to accept that things change. Whatever they hear first is the only thing they believe…if there is new information, keep it quiet or lose all credibility.

    beegee22 says:

@ChazTheYouthful You’re falling into the trap of misusing language. Science is constant, what changes is the data. When it was stated that vaccinated people couldn’t carry the virus there was no basis in science. None. There was no evidence either way upon which to base that “science.” It was hopeful speculation, nothing more.

    Apara says:

Does anyone listen to the CDC anymore 😂? At this point in the game, just do what works best for you, because the CDC is doing what’s best for whomever is paying them.

    Ja Loux says:

The best mask is no mask. The constant touching and adjusting renders them pretty much useless.
Wash your hands often and don’t touch yur face, that’s the key.

    Waldemar Marchesi says:

I’ve been wearing the same mask for 7 months, I keep it in my back pocket, of my work pants, it is serving me well .

    Sharon Jones says:

Absolutely the best place for it. Mine’s in my purse pocket. It’s just a beaded thing as there is no designated official mask. I’ve had 1 person ask if it was all I had. Yes, this one and my nylon mask for robbery jobs is all I carry, why? He shutup.

    Tarhlfn says:

no hand sanitizer, no mask. no shots, no social distancing, and damn, I’m still here.

    Laura McMullen says:

Note to the producers: the ASL interpreter was cut off midway through relaying the information. In live interpreting there is necessary lag time between when the message is given in English and when it’s fully out in ASL. Be sure to work with an interpreter or a Deaf adult on the splicing of the segment (perhaps take out the lag time so that in the two languages the same information is relayed at the same time).

Otherwise the interpreter (thank you thank you for having one) is only giving the illusion of inclusion.
